Life Student Care Open House

Is it me or what? Twitter, Facebook and now Blogger is giving me problems!! I know Twitter and Facebook got DoS but fcuk Blogger for giving me shit now that I want to blog!!! ARGH!!!

Anyway lah, I am here to update on the Life Student Care Center Open House on 1st of August. It was one hell lot of fun, so many kids and laughters! :)

There was a total of 9 Volunteers (Including me!) on that day, and we have three different stations; Painting Pegs, Party Hats and the Scientific Station. I was assigned to the Party Hats Station and my job was helping the kids to turn their piece of drawing into party hats.

I was late on that day but luckily the event havent start yet so played card game with the rest of the volunteers after Ler Tong/Jun Wu briefed us.

& this is Ler Tong/Jun Wu

The teachers passed us a basket of what looked like packet of colourful marbles and we were told to give the kids if they played the golf but in the end, all the kids got a packet each and some still asked for more. Apprently, it's some toys that the kids really love.

For us, we didnt know what the hell was that! We were like thinking if it's sweet or what? But one of the teacher told us these are called "Water Babies" and they can reproduce if you put them in water for some time.

Of course we all very amazed lah! We were like "Huh? This balls can grow babies? Sure anot!?"

aww...I just love DSLR effect! The out of focus effect and such...

I shall flood you all with more pictures. Muawahahahahah!! So you all wont be bored by words mah!! And all photos are taken by Lin Kai, our photographer of the day.

The girls were in charge of the Painting Pegs Station. The children all crowded around them, trying to play around with the paints and sort of make a mess for them. They only want to play around with the paint because they didnt bring home the pegs they did, they paint liao then move on to the next station.

Painting their pegs.

Engrossed with the peg painting eh?

Random and I dont know what I was laughing at.

The next station (actually, they can anyhow jump lah...) was the Science Station whereby we show the kids how a DIY volcano erupt by using Baking Soda? but due to our limited budget, there wasnt a dough-made volcano but just a mineral water bottle.

The kids were very curious about this little experiment.

Next is the station I am in charge with another three guys. We told the kids to draw whatever they want but in the end, we start to play Tic Tac Toe with the kids because the kids kept asking us for more Water Babies. So we challenged them, if they win us, we will give them.

So this little boy told me that if he win me, I have to give him two packets of Water Babies (Ya, I know very greedy right?) so I told him what if I win, is he going to give me his Water Babies too?

His reply was this: "You are so lame..."

Taken aback and I fell on the ground and the moment I hit the floor, few little horrible nightmares came to me and pulled my hair. :(

But he did accept the challenge. My plan was to win his Water Babies first then later purposely lose to him so that he can at least get one Water Babies mah!

Who knows, the moment he lost to me and gave me his Water Babies, he went into this "Want-to-cry-but-didnt-cry" mode. You get what I mean a not? I have to go humour him, trying to make him dont be angry with me. It was very tiring and he still continue to ignore me lor! So in the end, I just went back to my station until he came to me.

MUAWHAAHAHAHA!! I WIN LIAO!!! WAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

Kids drawing their hat desgin.

One of the Volunteer and I asking what the kids are drawing.

And I drew POKEMON for some of the kids and the kids were all like "This is Bulbasur! This is Psyduck!!" and "Wow!! He draw very real!! He know how to draw!!"

*SMIRK* MWUAHWAHWAHAWHAHAH!!!

The event lasted for 2hours and then it was clean up and the teachers cooked some bee hoon so we had our lunch before we went home. It was meaningful and fun to meet and play with the kids. If anyone of you want to join our volunteer projects, you can just contact me.

There will be a new volunteer project this December, its a 3Days 2Night camp and I am sure it gonna be fun!! I asked Zhi Cong and Audric already, hopefully we can all go for this camp. :

ULTIMATE PROJECT FTW!!

PS: Lookout for Nova and my name.

Project Painting.

Hi guys! Do you all miss my blog updates? I bet all of you did! Dont care! Haha! Anyway lah, I shall update on the Project Painting I did with Ultimate Challange few weeks back! So you all can have something meaningful to read about. :)

As mentioned in my previous entry, I went to do some volunteer work at Hougang. We are painting a mural for this non profitable student care center

It's quite fun as I get to meet new people over there, all of them are very nice like me. (muawahhaahah!)

Actually, before I start I was kinda worried that I will ruin the mural because it's been years I paint something, not to mention on a wall somemore!!

Of course will scare de lah! Imagine I screwed the painting! But it turns out pretty good and I actually painted it smoothly. The only annoying thing is that the place very de stuffy sia!! There is hardly any wind at all!

Okay lah, I shall just show you all the process of the painting now! Proudly taken by Jun Wu/Ler Tong/Tong. (yeah yeah yeah, he sibei many names lor!)

I shall quote this:

"Are you eager to perform community service but unsure of how to go about doing it? Are you unwilling or afraid to commit long term to a charitable organization? Or are you just looking to do something meaningful?"
